Modern Ballito is a permanent home to numerous young couples who are starting a family or have babies and/or young children, so the demand for the services of a professional family photographer is considerable.
Ballito is also a mecca for tourists and holiday makers, and many of the latter spend their leisure time or annual leave here with their little ones, so holiday pictures are a must. Fortunately, certain talented photographers, amongst them Eloise from Eloise Photography, will gladly travel anywhere throughout South Africa in pursuit of perfect pictures for clients.
According to the national census of 2011, Ballito was home to a population of 23 135, but one expects that this figure has increased considerably by now, some 4 years later. The village was proclaimed a town in 1954, reaching borough status in 1986, but it still retains its essential village charm and welcoming ambience.
The main beach has coveted Blue Flag status, increasing the town’s popularity as a destination of choice, enhanced by the clear, warm Indian Ocean waters, where schools of Bottlenose dolphins play throughout the year, lending their name to this stretch of KZN coastline – the Dolphin Coast.
In the hands of a skilled photographer, a good quality camera almost seems to take on a life of its own. It tells a story through the medium of pictures, capturing the subjects in the moment, time and place and preserving it forever, allowing future generations and persons who were not present to share in the beauty and joy.
It is not just the image of the subjects and their surroundings that are important and distinguishes a nice picture from one that is great, it is also essential to recognise and capture the essence of the person, place and time, and never more so than in the case of a baby, since they develop, grow and change so rapidly.
Ballito offers activities and attractions galore for everyone in the family, for grandparents, parents, trendy youngsters, teens and children, so there is just as much to keep a good baby photographer busy and spoiled for subject matter choice.
